Do the Work

I have a shirt that says “Do the work”

I don’t think that is a popular slogan these days.

We want things easy.

Let’s be honest, things are easy.

You need something and it’s delivered in 2 days without leaving your house.

You need to know something, google it and in 10 seconds you have an answer with no effort at all.

Although these modern conveniences are pretty damn cool and have improved our lives there is a dark side.

And that dark side is that we have come accustomed to having whatever we want with no effort and in the real world it doesn’t work that way.

If we apply this to health, people want to look and feel great while sitting on their ass eating garbage and drinking lots of booze daily.

The result? Those people are fat and sick.

Who do they blame? Anything or anyone but themselves.

If we apply this to careers many people are now expecting promotions and raises simply for showing up.

If you are a regular reader of mine you know I have studied mindset for over a decade and write about it a lot.

This is a mindset issue.

We are being told or think we can have what we want with no effort.

I think it’s why we have seen a rise in socialism.

The whole premise behind that movement is “sharing” the wealth.

If a politician spoke about socialism 20 years ago they would have been demonized and kicked out of office.

Well, with the mindset of deserving things with no work, this ideology makes perfect sense.

I actually get it. Although I am deeply against socialism I understand its rise in this country. Our politicians on both sides are complete scumbags. This is one more political move to screw “we the people” and people are falling for it. Can you blame them? When you see a CEO work for one year at a company, get fired and get a 10 million dollar buyout you feel like the deck is stacked against you.

The problem with that concept on a personal level is it takes away initiative and pride.

You no longer care about doing a good job, you get paid the same either way.

If I don’t take care of myself I will get taken care of either way.

And the list goes on.

I really don’t give a flying F#$% about politics anymore and neither should you.

What I do care about is personal responsibility.

The people who take ownership of their lives and “do the work” will succeed no matter what obstacles are thrown in front of them.

Why?

Because they know no one is coming to save them and no one has their best interest in mind except them and their loved ones.

You need to ask yourself a couple questions:

  1. Are you taking responsibility for everything that happens in your life?
  2. Are you doing the work?

We need to take ownership of what we want and where we want to go.

I believe the people that do this are going to be living amazing lives while the rest of the sheep will be slaves to the powers that want to control every aspect of your life.
