Responsibility is Personal

Are you responsible for your results?

This should be a cut and dry answer, yes.

For some crazy reason we are living in a time where too many people don’t agree with this.

I know people who are overweight and actually believe it has nothing to do with the way they live their life.

Personal responsibility used to be a matter of fact that everyone agreed upon.

We used to believe that if we made bad choices, we were responsible for the bad outcome.

Today we blame just about anyone or anything for things that don’t go right in our life.

I am not exactly sure when or how this came about but it seems to just be getting worse.

You can blame the politicians and the media, who do play a significant part, but they are not the sole reason.

For some reason there is a movement in this country for people to be taken care of and remove being responsible for their actions.

I am not sure why but it is without a doubt happening. Maybe this started with the “everyone gets a trophy generation” and they kept on going.

As terrible as this is, you have to ignore the noise and put the focus back on you and what’s important.

What actions are you taking to better yourself physically, financially and relationally?

How you answer this is all that matters.

Don’t rely on anyone else to improve those areas, it is up to you.

I believe that if you are one of the few that actually takes responsibility for your life without blaming anyone else for the good or bad you have a shot at a great life.

As a side note, a great life is different for everyone. Whatever you think would be great, do that not what society is pushing as the right thing to do. That is how we got in this predicament in the first place.

This is crazy but if you are at an ideal weight and are healthy you are among the elite in this country.

I work out 7 days a week. That makes me “a workout nut”.

I eat healthy foods and limit my alcohol intake. That makes me “rigid”.

I get up at 5 am and am bed by 9, that makes me “boring”.

Do you see the pattern? Society says I need to do the exact opposite which means:

  • Eat a shitty diet
  • Drink lots of alcohol
  • Stay out and party
  • Sleep in until the last minute before work
  • And on and on

The powers that be don’t want you to take responsibility for your life.

Why?

There is so much more money in keeping you controlled. They would rather have you dependent on medications to function or no energy to take initiative.

It never used to be this way but it is.

The good news is, you still have the ability to be in control.

It starts with taking responsibility for your actions.

If you are in control of your health, the powers that be can’t dig their tentacles into you.

The message here is take responsibility and you can be free. It’s your choice.
