Block Out The Noise

Sometimes people think they have your best interest at heart but advise you the wrong way. In many instances they don’t want you to get hurt, not physically but emotionally. It’s coming from a good place but not doing you any favors.

Other times people simply do not want you to better yourself. It sounds crazy but it’s very true.

Why would people do that? It is usually because it scares them to death that you’re improving and it points out their own fears of not willing to improve.

This is why it is so important to have 2 things:

  1. A strong mindset
  2. A strong support system

You need a strong mindset to be able to block out the BS from other people and do what needs to be done to keep moving forward.

You need a strong support system to help you when you are feeling down or simply need help to stay on the right path. If you don’t have that you are listening to the people that will tell you to quit.

The noise is everywhere today and we have so many different modes it’s hard not to get sucked in. We are exposed to negative marketing all day long. It’s hard to escape it but you have to try.

This is where putting up some guard rails will help. For example, limit or cut out negative social media. Limit time with friends who are fun but really not interested in improving themselves. Stop watching mindless TV.

The above recommendations have all been said before and at this point you should know better as to why you should be wary of all forms of media today.

What is more important is staying focused on what it is you are trying to improve and how you are going to get there. This is where you need to be very aware of the various distractions that come into our lives that derail our progress on moving forward.

It’s so easy to get distracted and thrown off track today and this is why it’s vital that we stay focused. Being focused is the antidote to the noise.

Staying focused gets you to your goal faster than getting sidetracked.

Staying focused is what will keep you moving forward.

If you look at successful people who have accomplished anything great, they always point to how “singularly focused” they were on the project, task, goal, etc.

Do successful people know something we don’t? Absolutely not but they are able to block out the noise and ignore all the naysayers in their life.

The good news about being focused is anybody can do it. When you ae focused there is no noise to block out.
